TShaw Strong 5K to Beat ALS
A 5K, a 1K Kids Fun Run, and a virtual option in Brentwood, Tennessee. Proceeds fund ALS research, including a 2026 gift to the Vanderbilt ALS Research Center.
The TShaw Strong 5K to Beat ALS is a road race in Brentwood, Tennessee. It is the organization’s largest awareness event of the year, and the source of the 2026 research gift to the Vanderbilt ALS Research Center.
The race is deliberately built to be joinable by anyone: a timed 5K with overall and age-group awards, a 1K Kids Fun Run, and a Virtual 5K for anyone who can’t be in Brentwood on the day. There is a Kids Corner with face painting, a dunk tank, Kona Ice and a DJ.
The 5K start is at 8:00 a.m. Registration is handled by the race partner at 5ktobeatals.org.
Questions
Can I do it if I don't run?
Yes. Walk it. There is also a Virtual 5K option if you can't be in Brentwood on race day. You complete it wherever you are, on your own schedule.
Is there something for kids?
There's a 1K Kids Fun Run and a Kids Corner with face painting, a dunk tank, Kona Ice and a DJ.
Where does the money go?
Proceeds fund ALS research. In March 2026, the 5K funded a gift to the Vanderbilt ALS Research Center in Nashville.
Can my company sponsor the race?
Yes. Sponsorship packages are available for the 5K and for the Celebrity Golf Classic.
