Where your money goes.
Most small nonprofits ask you to trust them. We would rather hand you the filings. Below: every grant we have made, our revenue and expenses as reported to the IRS, and a clearly marked list of the figures we are still verifying.

Grants and where they went
One thing to know before you read the numbers: the events are older than the corporation. The golf outing has run since 2016. TSHAWSTRONG, Inc. was not formed until 2023. So the totals below cover a decade of fundraising, while the IRS filings only start in 2023 and will never add up to them.
Named, dated, and linked to an independent source. Where an amount has not been made public, we say so rather than estimating.

What an event actually nets
Most charity events tell you what they raised. Almost none tell you what they cost. Here is both, from our own line-by-line reconciliation.
| Event | Raised | Cost to run it | Net |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5K to Beat ALS, May 3, 2025 | $35,382 | $18,770 | $16,611 |
The costs are the real ones: police on the race route, shirts, portable toilets, signage, timing, tents, medals. The largest single sponsor of the 2025 race gave $10,000. The Golf Invitational has not been reconciled the same way yet; when it is, it will appear here whether or not the ratio flatters us.
The filings
TSHAWSTRONG, Inc. files an IRS Form 990-EZ every year, and every one of them is public. We would rather point you at them than ask you to take our word for anything on this page.
Our full returns (revenue, expenses and net assets, year by year) are published by ProPublica Nonprofit Explorer from the IRS data. Read them there, or ask us and we will send them to you directly.
“Everyone who donates makes a difference. We don't have a cure yet so there is still more to be done.”
What we are still verifying
Publishing a number you cannot defend is worse than publishing no number. These are the figures we are chasing down. They will appear here once they are confirmed, and not before.
How the 2024 spending breaks down
The 2024 filing shows expenses above revenue. Most of that is the direct cost of putting on the events rather than grants paid, and the return does not currently separate the two. We are working with our accountant to report the tournament and the race the way the form asks, with event income and event costs shown against each other, so that anyone reading the filing can see the real picture. Until that is done we would rather point you at the filings than summarize them.
The year-by-year fundraising totals
The Golf Invitational has raised more than $300,000 since 2016; that figure comes from our own records. The year-by-year breakdown behind it is being reconciled, and an older “nearly $200,000” line still appears in places. One number, defensible, is worth more than three that disagree.
The youth football camps
Tim hosts annual camps in Livonia, Michigan and in Nashville with the Tennessee Titans. We have not yet published attendance, dates, or how they are funded, and we will not until we can state them accurately.
You can see exactly where it goes. Now send some.
